Christopher Jones, MDiv, MPA
Pastor & Pastoral Counselor
Let's face it: life can be challenging. The decisions we make and skills we use can make it more challenging or much easier. My desire is to help you envision the life God wants for you and make the necessary steps to achieve it. I have never met a client that could not move closer to her or his goals if that individual were willing to put forth the effort. If you have the desire and put forth the effort, I can help you develop the skills and assume the right temperament to achieve your goals.
We Can Help
Next to our faith, families are the most important aspect of our lives. In fact, our faith has more to do with helping us become the best family members we can be than virtually anything else. In many cases, we know what we desire. We, however, struggle to achieve that desire. Skills like proper communication and dispositions like learning to make amends are crucial. My passion is ending the frustration cycle of 1) experiencing some positive change only 2) for that change to be engulfed by despair when we fall back into the same rut.

I am trained primarily in Pastoral Counseling, having completed an M.Div. from Princeton Seminary and a residency from the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dallas, Texas. My pastoral counseling background is fused with marriage and family therapy, particularly couple's counseling. I focus on both your strengths and struggles as well as how they are triggered, frustrated, and/or broken by others. Both how you and others contribute to your pain are crucial. There are certain things that you can change, so we attend to these. There are other matters beyond your control since they are coming from others, so we also attend to those. Regarding the things you cannot control, we desire for you to develop a healthier outlook so they do not impact your life as negatively as they could. Additionally, we help people who are unaware or deny their role in your pain realize/acknowledge that they are indeed impacting you.

Each individual has work to do. My approach helps individuals 1) avoid resisting change; 2) reduce blaming others; 3) realize how they can negatively impact someone; and 4) assume the courage to try, even if you have "failed" prior. God can do it! God can do it through you! God can do it through each of us!! The question is will we let God work a miracle/transformation in, among, and through us!!!
